Most people are uninformed about the benefits of chiropractic care for children. Chiropractic adjustments are not dangerous for kids, and in fact can be very safe and effective. There is not an age that is too young for treatment. Infants can be evaluated and adjusted, if needed, right after birth! The birth process can cause problems in the neck and spine that can be relieved with chiropractic. Often times, spinal problems can also start in-utero, due to malposition of the baby.

Infants that have troubles with eating including gassiness and spitting-up can be helped with chiropractic care. Colic and sleeping problems can improve significantly with chiropractic. As children get older, they can benefit from chiropractic care if they have trouble with ear infections, bed-wetting, or growing pains.

Children are very physically active and experience many types of falls and blows from activities of daily living as well as from participating in sports. Injuries such as these may cause many symptoms including back and neck pain, stiffness, soreness or discomfort. If children do not receive needed treatment after an injury, even if there is no pain, it can cause problems later on in life. Chiropractic care is always adapted to the individual patient. It is a highly skilled treatment, and in the case of children, very gentle.

One of my passions is treating infants and children. Most of them do really well with being adjusted and parents can usually tell that it feels good to them. I enjoy watching them feel better and helping their health improve! For more information about chiropractic care visit A Center For Chiropractic & Alternative Medicine, P.C. today!
